Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 3, 2026
Marble & Myth (https://nymphroyal-candy.shop) is an independent editorial blog about Greek myths. This policy describes how Marble & Myth collects, uses, discloses and protects personal information, and what you can do about it. We follow the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and the ten fair information principles it sets out. The site has no accounts, comments, payments, newsletter, advertising or tracking pixels, so in practice we handle very little about you.
Who is accountable
Responsibility for personal information on this site rests with the editors of Marble & Myth ("we", "us"). If you have a question about this policy or about your information, write to [email protected] or use our contact page.
What we collect, and why
We collect only what we need for clearly identified purposes:
- Messages. If you use the contact form, we receive your name, email address, the topic you choose and your message. If you write to [email protected] directly, we receive your email address and whatever you include. Purpose: to read and answer you, and to correct an article if you have pointed out an error.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider automatically records the IP address, browser, pages requested and time of each visit. Purpose: to keep the site secure and working properly. These logs are kept only for a short period.
- Browser storage. One local storage entry records your cookie choice, and a session storage flag keeps the opening animation from replaying on every page. Purpose: to make the site work as you would expect. Our Cookie Policy has the details.
Fonts and images are hosted on nymphroyal-candy.shop itself, so reading a page does not involve Google Fonts or any other third-party service. Please don't send us sensitive information, such as health or financial details; we don't need it to talk about myths.
Consent
When you send us a message, you consent to our using it for the purpose above. The contact form also asks you to confirm this. You can withdraw your consent at any time by asking us to delete your message; we will then stop using it and erase it, unless the law requires us to keep it.
How the contact form works
The form does not transmit anything itself. When you press send, it opens your own email app with your message prepared. Nothing is sent until you send that email, and it reaches us as an ordinary email.
Use, disclosure and retention
We use your information only for the purposes described here. We never sell it, rent it or use it for marketing, and we will not add you to any list. We disclose it only to the service providers that help us operate the site:
- our hosting provider, which serves the pages and keeps the server logs
- our email provider, which stores the messages we send and receive
Beyond that, we would disclose personal information only where the law requires it.
We keep messages for as long as we need them to deal with your note, and never longer than 24 months; after that, they are deleted. Server logs are kept for a short period set by our host. Your cookie choice stays in your browser until you clear it, and we ask again after 12 months.
Processing outside Canada
Our hosting and email providers may store or process personal information in other countries. While it is there, it is subject to the laws of those countries and may be accessible to their courts, law enforcement and national security authorities. We remain accountable for information we transfer for processing, and we use contractual and other means to make sure it receives a level of protection comparable to the protection it would receive in Canada.
Safeguards
We protect personal information with safeguards suited to its sensitivity. The site is served over HTTPS, and access to messages is limited to the people who answer them. If a breach of security safeguards ever created a real risk of significant harm to you, we would notify you and report it to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, as PIPEDA requires.
Your rights
You have the right to ask whether we hold personal information about you, to see it, to have it corrected if it is inaccurate or incomplete, and to withdraw your consent. Send your request to [email protected], ideally from the address you used to contact us so we can confirm it is yours. We will respond within 30 days, and there is no charge.
Children
Marble & Myth is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has written to us, contact us and we will delete the message.
Provincial privacy laws
If you live in Quebec, Alberta or British Columbia, a provincial private-sector privacy law may also apply to your information. We will respect any additional rights it gives you.
Questions and complaints
If you are concerned about how we have handled your information, please tell us first at [email protected]; we will investigate and reply. If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.
Updates
We will revise this policy if our practices change and post the new version here before the change takes effect. It was last updated on November 3, 2026. For the rules on using the site itself, see our Terms of Use.
